“The Two Johnny's” Fiddle Workshop Series
John Arcand has written many famous fiddle tunes like “Big Bear” and “Grey Owl,” but there are so many more that aren't in the mainstream. I asked permission from John to offer a workshop of his tunes and he didn't hesitate to say yes. I appreciate his kindness and I'm excited to introduce some of his older catalogue of tunes.
When I was a kid, people would send me sheet music by mail. One time I received a stack of John Durocher tunes. I'd heard several of his compositions played by famous fiddlers like Don Messer and Graham Townsend, and lots of contestants at the Canadian Open in Shelburne played his tunes. There were SO many more that I'd never heard of!
Dates: Sunday April 7, 14, 21, 28 - 3:30PM CDT
Cost: $100 for all 4, $30 drop in rate
Classes will be done via Zoom and recorded. If you cannot make a class, you will receive a link to the recording.
Sheet music and piano back up tracks will be provided.
